Here’s a look at some of the hottest trends in fitness that we offer at the Uplands Sports Centre.

Zumba – in recent years, Zumba has become one of the hottest exercise trends in the UK. It is ideal for people that are new to exercise or haven’t exercised for a while, and is also suitable for the advanced exerciser. The high energy Latin beats will help keep you inspired during the workouts and it is a hugely enjoyable workout to take part in. With Zumba, you are guaranteed to lose weight, burn off fat and have fun.

Metafit – this is the ideal exercise class for people that don’t wish to spend a lot of time exercising. The classes can be completed within less than 30 minutes; during this time participants will work the largest muscle groups of the body while also taking part in intensive exercises to get the most out of the exercise session.

This form of exercise is growing in popularity as it gets fast results and improves fitness quickly, however, due to its intensity it might not be suitable for everyone.

Body Blitz – is a form of exercise that provides a high-intensity workout. This diverse exercise class can incorporate just about anything from the fitness studio including spin bikes, weighted resistance, and bodyweight training. These classes are well suited to people that get bored quickly and want variety in their exercise routines.

Spinning classes have long been a popular form of exercise. They are a good choice if you want to get some type of aerobic exercise but do not want to take part in high impact fitness classes that can be jarring to the joints. Spinning is excellent for burning calories and fat, and for developing muscles – and it is fun too. In order to keep class members motivated, spinning will also include interval training for a complete body workout.

Power boxing classes are popular with both sexes and they are an excellent way to build confidence and burn fat. They can also provide an ideal way to wind down after a stressful day at work.

Uplands Sports Centre is situated in the delightful village of Wadhurst in East Sussex, close to Tunbridge Wells, attached to Uplands Community College. We are a not-for-profit Centre that prides itself on being equipped with an excellent gym with state of the art exercise equipment.

We have a Studio where we hold a wide range of classes including Aerobics, Zumba, Spin, Metafit and Pilates. A Sports Hall that is available for clubs and children’s parties. We also have a treatment room, on site, that offers specialist treatments including beauty treatments, Podiatry and Osteopathy.
